First off, as someone who did, in fact, used to work in a comic book store, I second Ryan’s excitement about Watchmen. It’s going to rule. I’m glad people are finally starting to make good comic book movies.
Secondly, I’m pretty proud of our new stuff, and can’t wait to start busting it out.
Thirdly, please to enjoy Jesse Ventura tearing it up about gay marriage and religion in politics:
He’s totally right. Allowing people to vote on civil rights issues is total insanity. I know that’s undemocratic, and I’m usually pretty populist about things, but if we allowed people to vote on civil rights our society would look like something out of the Old Testament, and that’s not good for anyone.
I wish he fucking bodyslammed Pat Buchannan’s old, racist ass.
So some of us in camp Angel Eyes were pretty big comics fans at one point in our lives. One of us (Todd) even worked in a comic shop. One of my all-time favorite books was Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ Watchmen, and I’ve been sort of stoked on the movie adaptation ever since I found out Zack Snyder (who directed the supremely awesome Dawn of the Dead remake and 300) was making it. A trailer came out recently, and it is, in my personal opinion, fucking mind-blowing. Seriously, even the shitty Smashing Pumpkins b-side works for it. It looks like everything I would want a Watchmen movie to be. Also, Rorschach looks bad ass. Check out the trailer here:

So we haven’t updated in close to a month, but we haven’t been doing much of anything except writing music. Which, true to form, continues to progress glacially. So nothing new to report there.
The AFBTC split is starting to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. Mark is wrapping up the mastering and Simone is wrapping up the artwork. Hopefully we’ll put this fucker to bed soon.
Also, there is talk about doing a split with One Starving Day from Italy, which is pretty fucking awesome because they’re pretty fucking awesome. More on that as it develops.
That’s all for now, hopefully there will be more to talk about soon!
Okay… I know this makes me a dork, but I’m totally getting the Turtle Cosmology shirt. “It’s turtles all the way down” is actually one of my favorite quotes of all time. I always attribute the story to Clifford Geertz, but that’s me.
In fact, my students and I were joking that we should make t-shirts for our class, and if I did (which I didn’t, too much money, obviously) I said they were going to say “It’s turtles all the way down.”
Now, someone has gone through the trouble of making a shirt for me. Whoo!
Please note that they also have other totally amazing science shirts. SCIENCE!
First off, sorry for the lack of info lately. We’re in writing mode which means we have little to report. But expect a new Angel Eyes record sometime before… uh… well… at the pace we go probably sometime between next year and when you die. That’s when the new record will be out.
Actually, our split with A Fine Boat, That Coffin should be out this year. That’s cool, right?
Also, I was in New York the last week, and would like to point this out:

Please disregard how dorky I look and concentrate on the sign of the bar. Cool, huh?
I didn’t go in, however. I was tired and wanted to go to my room and go to sleep.
If you looked like that you would probably want to get off the mean streets of the Big Apple before dark, too. I might as well have “take my wallet” tattooed on my forehead.

I thought Todd was going to post this, so I’m sorry about the delay in getting the info up!

It’s a sweet line up (though it would have been way sweeter with RAISE than with us!), so we hope to see some of you there!
Uh, correct me if I’m wrong, but this kid seems to be confused that here in the real world, unlike in, say, Final Fantasy, when you get to the big palace up in the sky at the end of the game you DON’T get to fight some deity while techno music plays and the galaxy spins around behind you.
That kid’s going to need a LOT of therapy.
Like, a lot.
I set up this reminder last fall and it popped up on my computer this morning:

Happy May Day and a belated happy Walpurgis Night.
